A simple model suggesting that a 5 stage sequence can be followed in order to maximize the chances of delegation success: 1. Identify the task/project, 2. Identify the right person, 3. Brief the person and set goals and priorities, 4. Support the individual appropriately and 5. Recognize the effort or contribution. This is explained in summary form with a "charter" for effective delegation included on the reverse side.
